I just discovered natural healing foods through doing some research of my own and trying things out for myself. And let me tell you, I am so in love with MoM's organic market and I am so glad that we have one here in Waldorf. What was I doing before MoM's? The packaged foods that are sold in grocery stores are mostly crap and can be very harmful to our bodies. I am trying to consume as much organic food as possible!!!! So here's a list of 3 natural healing foods that make me happy:
1) Raw Apple Cider Vinegar - Love, love, love this stuff! Raw apple cider vinegar contains nutrients, acid, and enzymes that are very beneficial to your health because it breaks down bad bacteria. I take a couple shots of it everyday now. It's very strong so I immediately wash it down with water. And you can do more with it than just drink it; you can clean with it, clean your teeth with it, cook with it, and it's been known to help with weight loss!
2) Unrefined Organic Coconut Oil - Love, love, love this stuff too!!!! Coconut oil has many health benefits. The lauric acid in coconut oil helps to fight off bacteria, viruses, and fungi in your body which help you to avoid infections. It can also help you to suppress hunger because the fatty acids contained in it give an appetite reducing effect. It also improves cholesterol levels and may lower your risk of heart disease. The list goes on with this stuff, that's why I love it. And it tastes yummy, I'm a big fan of coconut! I take about 2 tablespoons a day. If you don't like the taste of coconut (I can't imagine why),then you can cook with it-the flavor is less pronounced when cooked and it still retains the nutrients when heated.
3) Organic Cabbage - Yummy! I love cabbage! I like to cook a big pot of it with olive oil, onions, sea salt, black pepper, garlic, and yes-apple cider vinegar!!! Besides tasting great, cabbage has an array of great benefits. Cabbage is full of vitamin C, fights pre-mature aging, eases constipation, helps with mental health and concentration, regulates blood pressure, and much much more!
So try incorporating organic foods that have natural healing properties into your diet, you can only benefit from it and your body will thank you! Anyone else have a great healing food that they want to share?
